Personalisation of documents can be done centrally, decentralised or as a combination of both. Several technologies can be used for personalising documents. A combination of technologies can positively add to the security of the document. Personalisation technologies include: mechanical embossing of characters, thermal (colour) printing, laser engraving and inkjet DOD technology for text, logo, bar-code, pictures.
